   Short history of the breed
Articles about Black Russian Terrier. Posted by black-russian-terrier-dog-breed-store.com
The USSR till the end of 40th needed a breed physically strong, hardy, adapted to the severe climate, suitable for guarding, patrolling and protecting. The problem solved by the complicated cross breedings of three main breeds: Riesenschnauzer, Airedale Terrier and Rottweiler. The first Black Russian Terrier was exposed in 1955. In 1958 the first standard of breed was published. Nearly ten years later the first trimming circuit of Black Russian Terriers was created. But they were recognized as the separate breed only in 1981.
